GARDEN ROOM OFFICE – HUTTON MOUNT
Rebecca contacted Hawksbeck wanting a garden room office for her home in Hutton Mount, that felt an integrated part of her garden. She was also keen to build a mini Hawksbeck garden room that her children could enjoy during lockdown and for many years to come.
The end result was a Hawksbeck Heritage Garden room clad in larchwood painted in a rustic green with a smaller wendy house in the same colour. The chosen colour for the garden room is beautiful and blends well into the existing garden. The garden room is nestled at the bottom of her beautiful garden among mature trees. At 26sqm the garden room feels really spacious and also includes an ensuite WC with hidden cistern, heated towel rail and handbasin.
We used a moling system to install all the pipework, electrical and data cables which eliminates the need to dig trenches. Moling is a faster, no mess solution to landscape excavation. It requires just two small pits to allow the moling equipment to burrow between.
The garden room has a pitched, slate roof with a wooden ridge beam. We installed French aluminium doors that open out onto her seating area which overlooks the garden. We also incorporated a floor to ceiling 2 meter window on one side to let in as much light as possible and give panoramic view of the garden.
Rebecca wanted to move some shelves from the main house into the garden room. They cover both sides of the garden room and they provide a very attractive feature as well as much-need storage space for the office. Other features include air conditioning, external lights and a Ring security and floodlight system.
