HOME GYM & OFFICE

Recently our teams completed construction on this Hawksbeck modern cedar clad garden room, for a family in Hutton, Essex. With a signature roof overhang, this garden room is visually stunning in this quaint garden space.

Our clients needed space for a home gym and a space to work, with a member of this family having their own cake decoration business that required ample space. A Hawksbeck cedar clad garden room was the perfect option for this Essex family!

From the outside, this garden studio room looks stunning, with the Canadian redwood cedar cladding looking particularly eye-catching in the summer sunlight. Our clients chose patio doors for their garden room, which brings the sunshine into the working space to make it bright and airy. These doors help to keep the garden room private from the outside, but also reduce opening their working space to the distractions in the garden!

The two glass panels bordering the patio doors add to the modern look of this Hawksbeck Garden Room from the outside. The glass panel in the gym area is a lovely addition too, allowing more natural light to enter the key exercise area.

A garden room is perfect for a home gym as it is naturally well-lit and feels separate to your home. This can help with focus, being able to leave behind the stresses in your home and focus on clearing your mind with those exercise endorphins! There are many ways to personalise your garden room to make it into the gym you want, functioning in the ways that you need.

In this case, our clients wanted a flat-screen television mounting on the wall in front of their peloton bike, so they could follow the exercises on the bigger screen. To help keep them cool in those sweaty workouts, our clients also chose to have an air conditioning unit installed for those hot summer days.

In the craft corner, our clients have placed a desk and computer monitor to create a focused working area. This area is lit from the natural light coming from both the doors and the glass panel on the side of the garden room.

The natural light is supplemented by the spotlights installed in the ceiling. The eight spotlights illuminate the room with bright white light, whilst the exterior wall lights emit a warmer lighting colour. This makes the garden room look inviting from the outside, and bright and focused on the inside. What more could you want from a garden room?!

We are so pleased with the amazing garden room that we have had built recently by Hawksbeck. They were a pleasure to deal with, communicated well, designed a great product and built it professionally. We now have a combined Studio and Gym that is a real asset, looks great in the garden and will last many years. I would thoroughly recommend Jon and his team.
