GARDEN OFFICE & CONFERENCE ROOM

Nestled at the bottom of this beautiful garden in Shenfield in Essex, is a Hawksbeck Heritage Garden Room. With two rooms, an en-suite, fitted kitchen and stunning vaulted ceiling, you can really lose yourself in this spacious, luxurious garden room. Our clients are using their Hawksbeck Garden Room as a garden office with a separate family living room, which is adjoined with a pocket door. We worked with our clients to ensure their garden office had the very latest audio and visual technology. Our team installed a 78.5 inch touch screen plasma with camera for conference calls and meetings, surround sound speakers and a security system that is linked to the main house.

This Hawksbeck Garden Room has two large bifold doors, one to the front serving the family living room and opening out to a large porcelain patio area and another to the side, giving access to the garden office and opening out to grey, porcelain steps. Both sets of Bifold doors are aluminum and have built in blinds for privacy and shade. Anthracite grey is the most popular choice of colour for doors and windows and it compliments perfectly the anthracite grey metal roof.

Working with Havwood, one of our flooring partners, we have installed an engineered wooden floor from their PurePlank Collection. We hand-finished the floor on site with Hardwax Oil to create a rich warm colour.

The garden room is dressed in stunning cedar cladding – we have used tongue and groove western red cedar. Western red cedar is the most popular timber used for cladding Hawksbeck Garden Rooms. The cedar creates a beautiful warm glow and is eye-catching against the green of your garden. Cedar also has a low carbon footprint, compared to other materials.

The resin path meanders its way down to the garden room framed by external garden lights. These are all installed and designed by the Hawksbeck team. Resin surfaces, which we also use on driveways and patios. Resin is fast becoming the surface of choice for upgrading existing or installing new driveways, patios or paths. It’s durable, strong, low maintenance, long-lasting and therefore very cost effective.

The bathroom has beautiful geometric tiles leading up in to the vaulted ceiling which creates a dramatic and luxurious setting. Space saving bifold shower doors are deployed with maximum effect to create a vast light, airy and spacious shower.

For the roof, we have used a standing seam metal roof with zinc gutters. This elegant modern roof is made using GreenCoat®, which is an innovative brand that produces sustainable colour-coated steel solutions for roofs, facades and rainwater systems. Widely used in sustainable architecture, this GreenCoat® roof is in anthracite grey, but their products offer an extensive range of colours and coatings.

The state-of-the-art Kitchen includes a microwave Oven by Neff, fully integrated fridge, marble worktop in Carrara Jade and floor-to-ceiling cupboards for additional storage. All the garden rooms services, including cabling and non-vented cylinder for hot water, are all discreetly housed in a beautifully integrated tall cupboard.

We have used windows to great effect in this garden room. They are not only a beautiful design feature but pour light into the space. We have a vertical split panel opening window (2m tall) with integrated blinds in the office. This provides light and fresh air with the option of a fully closing blind. In the kitchen, we have installed a large landscape window (1.8m long) above the kitchen units to really bring the outside in.

“Jon and his team built us a large garden office  with kitchenette and shower room. The standard of fit and finish is second to none thanks to the highly experienced, courteous team. All of his team are unfailingly polite and truly care about the standard of their work. Jon, alongside his team, provided great guidance and product recommendations which has resulted in a fantastic space. Jon’s strong project management and team leadership skills meant that the office was completed on time and to a high standard. We had some very specific needs for the space which Jon incorporated into the design and guided us on how it could be delivered. The project was completed in early 2020, prior to the lockdown, and it could not have been more timely. The garden office has allowed us to work from home in a quiet environment without the disturbances of normal home life. It also gives us a second space to spread out.”
