GARDEN OFFICE & CHILL OUT ROOM – COLCHESTER
Debbie and Elliott approached Hawksbeck looking for a garden office, which could also be used as a chill out room in the evening and at weekends. They wanted a room that Elliott could work from during the week, but also had enough space for a spin bike and a corner sofa. The corner sofa needed to have a large TV screen for their son to game on and also for family movie night. This was a truly multi-functional garden room and a classic example of the versatility garden rooms can have for our clients.
It was extremely important for our clients, that we maximised the size of the garden room. Therefore, a bespoke garden room was designed and built to exactly fit our client’s garden. At 4.5m by 4.2m, this garden room was a perfect fit, nestled at the end of our client’s beautiful garden. The end result, almost feels as if the garden room has always been there!
The cedar cladding really helps this garden room blend with the established trees and shrubs already in the garden. On the inside, we used Plusfloor Maverick flooring, which is a high quality vinyl flooring. It is known for being hard wearing and adds a modern feel to the room.
Debbie and Elliott wanted the garden room doors to open out centrally and maximise the amount of light coming in. We therefore installed 3.0m wide French Aluminium doors with two glass side panels. Air-conditioning was installed in order to keep the garden room nice and warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The air-conditioning unit also helps to dehumidify when our clients are taking a spin class. Hawksbeck were able to help connect fast broadband into their garden room to enable easy working from home and fast gaming!
