As 2023 comes to an end, we at Hawksbeck want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible projects we have had the privilege to work on this year. From creating peaceful garden room retreats to functional home offices, our luxury garden rooms have transformed ordinary spaces into extraordinary havens. Join us as we revisit some of our favourite garden room case studies of the year, each with its unique story and purpose.

Luxury Yoga Studio in St. Johns Wood, London

One standout project that captured our hearts was the creation of a breath-taking yoga oasis in the heart of a bustling city. This garden studio provided a serene escape from the chaotic urban environment, offering a peaceful sanctuary for our clients. With large sliding doors that embraced the natural daylight and garden views, combined with a soft polished plaster interior, this space became a tranquil retreat for meditation and simply unwinding after a long day.

The Home Office Haven in Bedford, Bedfordshire

In the wake of the global shift towards remote working, we had the pleasure of designing a garden room that served as the ultimate home office haven. With ample desk space, high ceilings, built-in storage, and a dedicated high-speed internet connection, this garden room became a professional workspace that fostered creativity and productivity. The floor-to-ceiling windows and large bifold doors provided a panoramic view of the garden, keeping the workspace connected with nature even during intense work sessions.

The Fitness Studio & Bar in Pinner, Middlesex

Another noteworthy case study was the transformation of a garden room into a versatile fitness studio and bar. Our clients wanted a unique multifunctional space that could accommodate various workout routines, from yoga to high-intensity training but also a space that combined entertaining.

With a total of three separate rooms, the largest room hosting a bespoke custom-built bar inspired by the owner’s dog, the second room kitted out with a stunning bathroom suite complete with a shower unit and the final room designed as the gym, fitted with ample wall mirrors, and a stereo system for energetic music, this garden room became a fitness and entertaining enthusiasts dream.

The Music Retreat in Colchester, Essex

We cannot forget the project that ignited creativity and music pursuits. This garden room music studio was designed as a haven for musical souls, whether it be practising, writing, or recording. Soft, natural lighting and adjustable overhead lights created the perfect ambience for inspiration. With a spacious open-plan layout, wall hanging space for multiple guitars, and comfortable seating, this garden room became a space where imagination knew no bounds.

The Gin Bar Escape in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire

Lastly, we were thrilled to create a garden room that provided our clients with a luxurious and comfortable escape during their gin-tasting sessions. This fully equipped gin bar offered privacy, two sets of bifold doors, a bespoke overhang, stylish seating, and a well-stocked custom-built bar. Our clients were delighted to entertain their friends and family in this haven of premium spirits, complete with all the necessary amenities including a bathroom.

Looking ahead, we are excited to continue our journey into the new year, inspired by these past successes. Whether it’s creating a tranquil retreat, a productive workspace, or a functional extension of your home, Hawksbeck garden rooms will be there every step of the way to transform your vision into reality.

As we bid farewell to this year, we extend our gratitude to our clients for entrusting us with their garden room dreams. It is through these incredible projects that we can push the boundaries of design and create garden rooms that truly enrich the lives of our clients.
