Bespoke Garden Room Workshop – Wimbledon, London

We recently designed and built a bespoke garden room in Wimbledon to be used primarily as a dressmaking workshop, providing our client with a dedicated space to bring their creative vision to life.

This garden room serves as an ideal environment for designing and creating beautiful dresses, offering a peaceful and inspiring workspace right at home. Tailored to our client’s requirements, this workshop combines functionality with elegance, ensuring a professional yet personal setting for their craft.

Modern Range Garden Room

This contemporary garden room is part of our Modern Range, featuring a sleek design that blends seamlessly with the outdoor space. The sidelights are a sleek, modern feature on the exterior of the garden room, enhancing visibility and creating an inviting look. To further extend the space, we incorporated a spacious porch area, providing a versatile outdoor extension to the dressmaking workshop.

Dressmaking Workshop

Our client’s business has been transformed with their new garden room, allowing them to fully pursue their dressmaking business from the comfort of home. The garden dressmaking workshop features a changing area with mirrors, perfect for fittings and adjustments, along with a space for a desk to handle any administrative tasks. The beautifully crafted dresses are elegantly displayed on hangers. The smart layout makes it the perfect setting for both work and client consultations.

En-Suite Bathroom

A modern en-suite bathroom has been seamlessly integrated into the bespoke garden room design, offering both convenience and luxury. With sleek, contemporary fittings, it provides a private space for freshening up – ideal for when clients visit for fittings and consultations.

French Doors

The garden room is fitted with uPVC French doors, combining elegance with practicality. The high-quality uPVC frame offers excellent insulation, helping to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature throughout the year. Designed for durability and low maintenance, the French doors create a seamless connection between the indoor dressmaking workshop and the outdoor environment.

Storage Space and Kitchenette

At the back of the garden room, we have incorporated a dedicated storage area, ensuring the space remains organised and clutter-free. The client opted for custom shelving, providing a neat and efficient way to store fabrics, sewing materials, and equipment.

Our client also wanted an integrated compact kitchenette, complete with a sink and space for a kettle and other essentials. This convenient addition allows the client to enjoy refreshments without having to leave their workspace, making the garden room a truly self-sufficient and practical dressmaking studio.

Natural Wood Cladding

The client chose natural cedar wood cladding, bringing warmth and character to their contemporary garden room while complementing the surrounding greenery. Cedar is a highly durable material that naturally resists moisture and decay, making it a practical yet stylish choice.

Over time, it will develop a beautiful silver-grey tone, adding to its charm while requiring minimal maintenance. This premium cladding not only enhances the overall look of the garden room but also provides excellent insulation, ensuring a comfortable space throughout the year.
