GARDEN ROOM GYM – SHENFIELD

Martin and Amanda were looking for a bespoke garden room solution at the end of their garden. They wanted a home gym where they could exercise in peace while enjoying being surrounded by their beautiful garden. They also wanted to incorporate an ensuite shower room and separate garden storage area, which is accessed by an invisible door.

Martin and Amanda decided to approach Hawksbeck in order to design and ultimately build their perfect garden room gym. The process started with a free site survey, where we able to fully assess their needs and the space available in their garden. We were able to talk through potential costs, feasibility and how the interior and exterior of their garden room would like to be finished.

Once our clients were happy with the final cost, a contract was drawn up and work could begin on bringing their ideas to life with our architectural team. Full plans were assembled and signed off on, with relevant planning permissions acquired. Most garden rooms fall under permitted development, meaning that planning permission is not always required. One of the greatest appeals of garden rooms or a garden gym in this instance is the speed in which they can be constructed. Once the materials are ordered, garden rooms can be assembled and constructed in a matter of days (depending on the size and internal specification). So you can be well on your way to enjoying a new gym space like our clients in a short amount of time!

Internally a large space was created to make way for the gym equipment and a TV was installed – perfect for passing time whilst exercising! Here at Hawksbeck, we are also able to install air conditioning (which is a huge bonus if using a garden room as a gym) or even heating for those cold winter days. In this particular case study, we also included installing an ensuite means our clients can shower after their workout. This also future proofs their garden room so they can use it for grown-up children or an elderly relative in the coming years if guest accommodation is ever needed.
